As Western Christians, we can go to our bookshelves at any time and choose from multiple Bibles, Bible study helps, and other resources to study the Word of God. We are free to go online to look up any Bible passage or purchase any book or study guide.
Our brothers and sisters in some Asian nations don’t have access to these resources. And because of extreme internet regulation and “firewalls,” they are not able to go online like those of us in the West.
For many of the persecuted pastors that OTAN serves, internet access is greatly restricted. Web-based companies that will not allow the government to have complete access are blocked. These sites can only be viewed by using a VPN (Virtual Private Network). But VPN downloads are also blocked, and using an Asian VPN almost guarantees that your internet is monitored.
What do our Southeast Asian pastors need?
This year, our annual Labor of Love project will provide OTAN’s Southeast Asian pastors with a tablet containing a LOGOS Bible Software resource library in their native language, enabling them to study the Word in a much deeper way. The software is preloaded so our pastors can access it anywhere without the need for an internet connection.
How can I help?
Our goal is to provide 100 Asian pastors with this much-needed tool to shepherd their flocks. Each tablet with the LOGOS software will include Bible commentaries, concordances, Bible dictionaries, OT and NT individual book studies, sermon helps and more…resources that most of these leaders have never had access to before.
$50,000 will enable us to give 100 Asian pastors their own tablet pre-loaded with a study library in their native language.
